Nieves Arranz is a respected internationally trained and experienced makeup and hairstyling professional. She discovered her innate talent at the age of 15 while playing “movie making” with her brothers and friends with her  father´s HI8 camera. she quickly realized that it was her calling and it would soon become her passion in life to take her talent to the next level.

Knowing no one in the industry, she got into figuration agencies, to work as an extra and thus have the opportunity to meet makeup artists who would advise her how and where to train, while helping them cleaning brushes and learning the order and structure of a filming and said department.

She entered the Juan Pedro hérnandez School at the early age of 17, training in the film, fashion, thater, and fx makeup industry. From there she went to work at the ECAM Film school, having the opportunity to share her passion with that of other great dreamers. While she continued to train with great professionals in Spain and England such as Francisco Puyol, Lucy ferrandiz and Colin Arthur. Her training also includes cosmetics in renowned firms such as MAC, LANCÔME, HR, ARMANI COSMETICS.

Already a professional in the field of work and known by various directors and photographers, she decides to continue her studies by going to the United States to study the same thing again but in english and perfecting herself in the field of hairdressing, thus completing a career in Cosmetology at Manhattan Hair academy for PIVOT POINT in Tampa, Florida, USA. Graduating and acquiring English as a second language.

Her extensive career as a make-up artist spans two decades working with experienced professional in various film productions, thater, advertising campaigns, etc.

She worked on the movie “Talk to Her” with Colin arthur (FX Make-up Artist for movies like “Neverending the Story”) She has been Head of makeup on “Uncertainty” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lynn Collins. Just as she has been a makeup artist for actors and actresses in the cast of George Clooney, Emma Thompson, Penelope Cruz, among many others.

She has worked under the direction of directors including Pedro Almodovar, Scott Mcgehee, David Siegel, And occasionally with Lee Daniels for the movie “Precious”.

She has also been a mak-up artist instructor for actors and directors at the First Team Film Direction and Interpretation Center in Spain.

She currently lives between Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga and the United States.
